Tattooed Moose

OVERALL RATING: 2.5

Last night we met some friends out for dinner and drinks at the Tattooed Moose.  We had heard about it before but we actually saw it featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives earlier in the week and decided that we needed to check it out.  The food did not disappoint!  I had the BBQ brisket and my husband had their famous "duck club"- they were both fantastic!  To top it off we also had duck-fat fries with garlic aioli which were great.  The place had a cool vibe, with funky decor including animal heads mounted on the wall and graffiti-covered tables and walls (which they encourage).  Given this chill scene and the two small doors marking the restrooms, I was prepared for the worst.

The bathroom was definitely not as bad as I expected.  The room is old and tiny, but it was pretty clean.  There is one stall and the walls are covered in graffiti from previous customers, which actually fit the decor of the restaurant and provided some interesting reading material!  The pull-down paper towel dispenser was a plus, as it was nice to not have to waive my hand and hope for an ample amount of paper towel to dry my hands.  Also included in the bathroom was the always comforting, "employee's wash hands" sign!

While the room was unique it did lack some essential features of a quality bathroom.  There were no seat covers.   There were no feminine waste baskets.  The mirror above the sink was very tiny.  The toilet scrubber, while covered, was still sitting out in the open.  Having only one stall in an older bathroom still gave me a little bit of an "old, dirty bathroom" feel.

We will definitely be back here to eat and drink, but will try to do our business before we get there!
